BSc Sports Science qualified. Personal Training, Reflexology, Massage & Group Training across Central London and Portsmouth/Southsea. A holistic approach to how you move, feel, and recover.
Simon Flannery is a BSc Sports Science graduate who has been in the health and wellness industry for the last 26 years. Since completing his degree in 1995, he's built a career around one simple belief: understanding what's really going on in your body — especially the impact of stress — is the key to lasting health.
After university, Simon travelled extensively through South East Asia, where he learned Reflexology in Penang, Malaysia — specifically a Taiwanese technique called Rho Shur, a much deeper treatment compared to conventional approaches. On returning to the UK, he gained formal qualifications in both reflexology and massage to give his clients a truly holistic approach to health and fitness.
Simon was club manager for celebrity trainer Matt Roberts, based in 5-star hotels in Kensington and Mayfair. He went solo in 2004, operating as a freelance personal trainer from the Metropolitan Hotel in Mayfair where he remains to this day.
Post-Covid, Simon transitioned into online coaching — a natural fit with his vast experience. He still spends two days a week in London looking after clients face-to-face, with the rest of his time at home in Southsea, Portsmouth.
Outside of work, Simon has completed 5 London Marathons and several triathlons. He joined Sigma Sports in Kingston as a ride captain, and now works with the RioWay community in Portsmouth as a health and wellness expert, running group physical training sessions specifically for men's mental health.
From one-to-one training to deep-tissue healing — every service is built around understanding your body and what it needs.
A 90-minute initial assessment — online or in person — covering mobility, stabilisation, functional movement, and strength. Includes exercise prescription and nutritional guidance. Follow-up sessions are 1 hour.
High-energy 60-minute sessions for 2–10 participants. Great for building camaraderie, accountability, and results — whether you're training with friends, colleagues, or a local community group.
60 or 90-minute treatments using Rho Shur — a deeper Taiwanese technique learned in Malaysia. Simon identifies where stress lives in your body by working reflex points on the feet, restoring balance and triggering natural healing.
60 or 90-minute therapeutic treatments covering deep tissue, sports massage, and injury rehabilitation. Whether you're managing chronic tension or recovering from an injury, Simon tailors pressure and technique to your needs.

Simon has trained me for 15 years on building my core strength, and has also done reflexology on a regular basis for me. He is a superb trainer. Each session has been game changing for me and leaves me feeling transformed. I travel a lot and work long hours, resulting in stiffness and lots of aches and pains. He has helped me address each of these, by tailoring his programme to suit my particular needs. He knows exactly how my body is coping and what techniques help best address my issues. His training combines science with wellness, delivered in the most caring and fun way.
Simon has been my trainer for over 18 years. I used to find it difficult to see him face to face in the gym so was very grateful when he offered to train via Zoom. Since then I have 'seen' him almost every week — there is never a reason not to. I find it just as good to train remotely with Simon, especially as I now have my own home gym, kitted out with his advice. He is absolutely brilliant at seeing if I am training correctly and I feel fitter and better than ever.
I have trained with Simon weekly for 18 years. I can honestly say that his expertise, and focus on the individual, has been a major contributor to my good health in that time.
Simon has been my fitness trainer for about 7 years now. Occasionally in person, most our weekly sessions are by video with me either at home on a mat or in the gym at my work. Simon is genuinely excellent at his job — he cares deeply about delivering a top service and carefully crafts all our sessions to meet my needs. He pushes me hard (but not ridiculously hard) and encourages me all the time. We laugh along the way too, which makes it much more enjoyable! I thoroughly recommend him.
I started my fitness journey with Simon on Zoom in lockdown and have achieved more than I ever thought was possible! I have gained so much confidence in my physical ability and now view training as part of my day-to-day routine. I am lifting PBs in the gym, after following Simon's curated training plan, as well as feeling strong enough to run long distance. Simon has also been fantastic getting me back on track with structured rehab after an ankle sprain. I would recommend Simon's services to anyone.
I've been training with Simon weekly for two and a half years, and the difference in my performance on the tennis court has been remarkable. After suffering a torn meniscus, I needed to rebuild real strength and stability in my knee and leg — Simon has been outstanding at guiding that process safely while keeping me improving. I'm noticeably faster, more agile, and move with far more confidence than before. What truly sets Simon apart is his holistic view of the body and his encyclopedic knowledge of anatomy. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Simon to anyone serious about their sport.
I have been a client of Simon's for over 25 years. Reflexology with Simon has always been an important part of my wellbeing. However, it has become absolutely vital in the last two years as I have been receiving treatment for Stage 4 metastatic cancer. My recovery from both major surgery and chemotherapy has been aided immeasurably by reflexology and it remains an incredibly important part of the ongoing management of long term conditions. I could not recommend Simon more highly.
Simon is a unique find in the personal training space. No matter the fitness goal, his back-to-basics approach to building strength delivers stellar results, nurtures self-belief and provides a deep education of long-term health and wellness.
